Dorri, (duh-R-re, not Dory), is a native Staten Islander. She is the mother of a daughter and son, and is known as Gram to her granddaughter and grandson (grandkids are great!). A Tottenville HS graduate, who has worked on most of her HS Reunions, Dorri attended SUNY New Paltz for a year.
Dorri worked for the former Staten Island Savings Bank for 27 years, working her way up from teller to Branch Manager/AVP. Besides being involved with Community Theatre since the 70's, she has volunteered her time with PTAs, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, The Conference House Auxiliary, the former Staten Island Symphony, the Staten Island Museum, The Alice Austen House Museum, the Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre and Seamen's Society for Children and Families, were she served/serves as a Board Member and/or an Officer. She also delivers Meals on Wheels in her community. Dorri is proud and humbled to be one of the International Soroptimists of Staten Islander 2018 Ruby Award winners. This award recognizes women and girls who have improved the quality of life for other women and girls.
DarLyn Cards & Photos, is a small business Dorri has where she takes photographs and makes greeting cards. And lastly she is a Wedding Officiant. "I love meeting and officiating a couple's marriage ceremony. I have made many lasting friendships. From June 2012-March 2018 I've married 54 couples".
A long time cancer survivor, Dorri has a great support system and believes in the importance of positivity and gratitude. "Although I've had difficult times in my life..who hasn't...I've truly been blessed. I'm a very lucky lady!"
